ThE Pee’S & ThE Bee’S

January 22, 2008 at 5:13 pm (Uncategorized)

Have u ever went into a supermarket and have a guy next u that asked 4 a BEBSI not PEPSI !?

i wonder why a numerous amount of people in Jordan cant pronounce the letter ” P ” , whenever i find myself  with some1 who mistakes The Pee’s with The Bee’s i just cant help but correct them ! its a rude and annoying habbit ,believe me am aware of that .

and the thing is that its not that they cant pronounce the letter “P” its just that they dont want 2 !!!

why the hell is that!

i mean u’d think that when they say English words such as please or pepsi or what ever they say ,they would want 2 say it right ! Why bother then ! just say law sama7t or mashroob ‘3azy instead of that blaber!

and its not limited 2 The Pee’s & The Bee’s…

Its also :

Sury -> Sorry

Burgar -> Burger

Siksy -> Sexy

and many more !

    hey babe :) welcome to blog land…

    I am so habby that you decided to do this.. :)
    one time in amman i received a weird msg from someone i know it was something like this: sory for peing late… it turns out that the person thought p b what’s the difference, when smsing to get the letter p you had to press 7 once but for the letter b you had to press 2 twice!

    And does is really matter?? English is NOT the first language in Jordan, is it? Consequently when people do an effort to utilize it or put it into practice they should be given credit for that.
    In Spain, we say sometimes KHome instead HOME, or Gho instead of Go and we neither face criticism, nor bashing!!
    Looks like people in Jordan THINK that they are more important by speaking Ingles perfecto!!
    Complexity issue I believe!
    Saludos,
    Jose

    Welcome to the Blogosphere girl! :D

    LOL @ mashroub ‘3azi, yes it can be annoying if people use English words when there are Arabic words that can be used instead, but you can’t substitue Pepsi with mashroub ‘3azi, hadeek trademark, mashroub ‘3azi = soda. Bas Blease is very annoying, Blease ma te7kouha!! :D

    it is really annoying, I work in a company that manufactures bibes (according to one colleague) one day he was giving an email address and he was like:
    S for sugar, B for beoble!!! it is imbodsible.

    However, I have to agree with Jose, we are not the only ones, Filipinos have the k which sounds like Arabic Qaf, Indians switch the W with V and vice a versa same as Germans, Spanish speakers never pronounce the H correctly and they don’t distinguish V from B they sound exactly the same and so on. but then again we don’t have an excuse as Arabs because we can pronounce the P correctly if we made a little bit more effort.

    And by the way Spanish is a very nice language do you speak it?

    Sorry about the long comment, welcome to blogging I hope you enjoy it. Can I use Rana or Ranoosh because Ranooshitika is long and I can’t pronounce it correctly :D
